I have now fully recovered from all of my operations apart from a few doctor appointments here and there i am all good!!! and am going to get it all complete!! My deadline has been moved a few days due to being ill so this will give me a bit longer.

i have managed to nearly complete both advert 1 and 2 just need a few sound adjustments, but have been held back alot this year due to illness. i have my other operation in a few days time so after that i hope to get them all complete!! as i am way behind the deadline now :(

I have recoverd from my operation and had lts of rest and taking it easy not that i have time too. However i have another operation on my heart in a weeks time so i am going to try and complete all the filming for all my adverts. Advert 1 and 2 are complete with filming, however i need to do alot of editing, i have checked all my filming over and it is fine. I now need some time to edit. I have most of advert 3, however kids are very hard to film, therefore i need to re do a couple of shots due to the lack of co operation from the children themselves.

it is easter very soon and i have an operation in a weeks time, and have to take a week or so rest....which means im going to fall even behind on my work :( i am going to try and do some more filming before and try and get as much filming done as possible, so i only have to edit. i have managed to do some more filming of advert 3 and some editing of it. :) the shots seem ok however there will be a few that need to be re done and there are a few shots which i will not use as it does not work well. i hope to be up again filming soon as it needs to be done.

due to being very ill i have fallen very behind on my work! :( i have also found out i am going to be having two important operations in april sometime so have to organise my time and try and get as much done as possible. as i will not be able to do any filming, and am not allowed to get too stressed out!! :S this means that i have not met my deadlines!!! therefore am going to work hard and try my very best to do as much as i can

This is one of the first canon adverts to hit our screens. i love the way it is almost cartoon. the people and objects used are made out of lego so this must have been animated maybe. if i had more time and patience i would have used alot of animation in my adverts, however i am not sure what it will look like and where it will fit into, also i have lost alot of my flash skills as i do not use it as much recently therefore it would take me alot of time to figure it out and pick back up on the skills.

ideas from this advert i could use...
- the slow motion effect
- simple but well fitted sound track ( no lyrics)
- i could use flash for my title and slogan..

i have decided that i am going to use a voice over for my adverts, as this will allow the audience to be even familiar with my advert as the voice hopefully will stick in their heads a bit more. i have tested out a voice over by doing it myself however i think i am going to use a man to do it as the voice is blunter and clearer.

Filming went very well. instead of filming some of advert 1 and 2 like i was suposed to i ended up filming advert 3, i went round too my sisters and filmed the kids doing usual things, i filmed them doing drawing and playing games and in the garden, even though i managed to get lots done, i think im going to have to change my storyboard and re shoot some shots a couple of times...i couldnt film advert 1 and 2 as the actors and actresses were not available...

Here is the advert for cadburys. this is a very popular advert, even though it is really simple. it is very unusual. when anyone watches the advert they wonder what it is for which has inspired me to hide my product until the end of the advert. the advert is random and different which makes people recognise it and remember it well.

i love the lyrics to the advert and the song used, i think it fits really well. i also like the narative and the amount of people that are involved. I also like the title at the end where it states the product and what it is with a voice over and then the sound of the camera is used. i like the variety of shots used which shows the codes and conventions are being used. The pace is smooth also and continues throughout the advert.

my ideas..........My idea is to advertise a professional camera. as i am very into photography i feel this will be interesting to do as i will be able to put the final adverts into my portfolio aswell. The adverts will be fun based, they will have a emotion displayed very highly in each advert which well help grab the audiences attention and mae them think and feel about their emotions and happiness. at first i was planning of having them really exciting and beaty, with fast paced editing, however i think i am going to have the pace slower, still exciting but with more feeling portrayed. the adverts will portray happiness between relationships of people, and each advert will catch teh audiences attention because the focus is memories. In order to catch the audiences attention i feel that displaying some memories which are common and that people might have will make them feel more, and therefore they will attract to the product.My slogan will be 'take the picture, re live the memory' which links to both the adverts and the camera.I will have images and pictures displaying either in the middle of the ads or at the end, therfore the audience will be able to see the actual memories live, by video footage but also by picture, so when they look at their own personal pictures they will think of their memories therefore they may invest in a new camera.

i have recently brought myself a new mac, by doing this i am able to edit more often and use my own equipment whilst at home which is easier to use, this is also easier as there are not always macs availabale to take home and if i used a school laptop the same laptop is not always available therefore it would be much harder to access my work. By buying my own mac i have learnt new techniques on editing and sound skills which i will be able to emphasize on my final adverts as it will make them look more professional.

Here is also a questionnaire that i did to find out audience needs, it it vital to get audience research as their the ones that the adverts have to be made for.

Here is a brainstorm of different memories i could include in my adverts.

As my target audience is varied, i need to have adverts that allow all ages to be reached and amused. From this idea i came up with doing three themes, a theme per advert. The first one will be based on love, the seconf based on freindship and the third based on family. i feel that by doing this i will meet most of the audience demands, therefore i will hit my whole target audience.
ADVERT 1 - LOVE - have a couple walking, kissing etc....
ADVERT 2 - FRIENDS - group of freinds having fun, party, park etc...
ADVERT 3 - FAMILY- the development from a childs life and the way they grow up, and have fun.

I have been reading a book called 'creative advertising' by Ken Burtenshaw. This book has taught me how important codes and conventions are in an advert in order to atract the audiences attention and also get them interested into the product. This book has taught me that the audience is the most important aspect. If there is no audience then the advert and product will not succeed. So in order for a product to succeed, the expectations for the audience and demands meet to be met to a high standard. I have also learnt that comedy adverts work really well with audiences, due to the fact that it entices them in to watch more as they are attracted to the commical value. I am planning to create adverts that entice the audience in, however i want them to feel emotion and great feeling from watching my adverts which will entice them in and hopefully make them consider about buying the product.

From this book i learnt that it is important for an advert to have a variety of shot distances and movements in order to keep the audience engaged. i also learnt that sound creates the biggest impact to an advert, as it controls the pace and rhythm. The pace can vary between adverts however depending on the product depends on alot of code and conventions as they are not the same for every product.

What is advertising?

How does advertising work?
You have to reach the target audience that the product/information is available for.
The advert has to have a clear link to the product and the brands name; otherwise the audience will not be familiar with the product.
An advert has to be interesting and have correct information about the product; otherwise the audience will feel bored and won’t be attracted to the product. Also they won’t want to watch on.

The history of advertising?
In the seventeenth century, adverts were created in newspapers. This included simple descriptions and occasionally use of colour.
In the late nineteenth century colour was available and illustrations were used for advertisement, this was because of technological advances.
Thomas Barrett decided he needed to increase his adverts, which led to him launching a series of ads which then gave him the name “father of modern advertising”.
In the twentieth century advertising increased to realising adverts in cinemas and radios.

This blog is a diary for me to put my ideas on and also to get other opinions from other students to see what they think. I have chosen advertising because i feel that it will benefit me more in my future, i also think it will be a challenge to complete this as we have to create 3 adverts instead of one.

I have recently looked at a couple of books, 'teaching t.v advertising' and ' The fundamentals of advertising', these books have helped me understand about what the audience requires in an advert, i also have researched online and in these books, what an advert is, and the codes and conventions of an advert.
